Hello Community Radio Lovers, Listeners and Supporters!

You may be somewhat familiar with Casa de la Cultura but we hope that you will become more familiar still as we present this short program on their Summer Youth Mural program. The Wellness Coalition is a partner in the effort.

This is part of a recent notice from Casa…

Starting Monday, June 6, 2011 you can show up at the Santa Clara Catholic Church Parish Hall where you can join other young people PAINT A YOUTH MURAL. From 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. you can help create a lasting memory of this summer. You don’t need to be an artist to help out. Wear clothes you parents won’t mind having paint on them – 🙂

Murals are a common and honored expression of community in Hispanic culture so it is gratifying to see the tradition passed on to a new generation. This one will be on a 4’x8′ panel and will be mounted for public view on the main street of Santa Clara.

If you have or know a child that might enjoy designing a mural and working with others to create the final painting, contact Sylvia Trujillo of Casa de la Cultura at 575.519.9738 or email casadelaculturanm@gmail.com.

The program runs this week and next week –
Monday 6 June through Thursday 9 June &
Monday 13 June through Thursday 16 June 2011
Santa Clara Catholic Church Parish Hall on Bayard Street. All are welcome.

And you will also want to know about these upcoming events and activities from Casa de la Cultura.
