Messin’ With Herbs is the latest addition to GMCR’s growing roster of locally produced programs.

It is hosted by Monica Rude of Desert Woman Botanicals and addresses all things herbal including how to grow and use medicinal, culinary and ornamental herbs plus gardening, food, and health topics.

Another host of the program is Naava Koenigsberg, long time herbalist in the Silver City area and owner of Bear Creek Herbs. She also has a background in permaculture and eco-horticulture. Other guests will join them periodically.

The purpose of this program is not to prevent, cure or treat any medical condition but to promote awareness of lifestyle options so the individual can take responsibility for their own health.

Monica studied herbs with Michael Moore, Matthew Wood and others. She is particularly interested in growing herbs and food and creating herbal remedies to help deal with the stress in our busy, fast-paced lives.

An important aspect of her work is educating others on the value of home cooked food and remembering to smell the flowers along the way. You are growing flowers, right? If you have two loaves of bread, sell one and buy flowers. The first will feed your body, the second will feed your soul. (Someone else said that first…)
