Earth Matters / Diana Hadley – Northern Jaguar Project

Earth Matters co-producer Kevin Bixby talks with Diana Hadley, president and founding board member of the Northern Jaguar Project, an effort to protect the northernmost jaguar population in Sonora, Mexico. She explains how the project has established a large jaguar reserve, and how local ranchers have been incentivized to tolerate and even welcome jaguars through an innovative wildlife camera project that rewards ranchers for “selfie” images of wildlife captured on their property.  She also suggests how the project could someday help reestablish jaguars in their historic habitats within the U.S.
