Silver City Municipal Candidates Forum

Please do join us and submit your written questions for the candidates.  Though some offices are uncontested, there are serious matters which this council will face and this provides an opportunity to hear their responses to your concerns and their views and positions on a range of issues.

The Town of Silver City has provided a Notice of Candidates which also includes polling places, precinct board members and other information regarding this election.

Please Note – Early voting continues at City Hall through Friday 2 March 2012.

Though all candidates were invited to this forum, Cody Petty and Tom Joines have apparently chosen not to participate.   Some controversy has been raised as a result which has been posted on GilaCommunity.Net.  Visit their site for the latest updates and reactions from community members.

The Candidates for Mayor
• James R. Marshall – Incumbent
• Cody S. Petty – Write-in candidate, his name will not appear on the ballot

Candidate for District 2 Council seat for a two year term:
• Pauline N. Hassler-Cook – Running unopposed for an open seat

Candidates for District 3 Council seat running for the remaining year of a two year term:
• Jose A. Ray, Jr – Appointed incumbent
• Thomas W. Joines

Candidate for District 4 Council seat for a two year term:
• Michael Shawn Morones – Incumbent , running unopposed
