Earth Matters: Gila River Fest

today22 December 2021

In September 2021, the Gila Conservation Coalition organized the 17th Annual Gila River Festival that explored our connection to Nature, how the \ environment shapes human identity, and celebrated our connection to one another and to the Gila River watershed.

Today on Earth Matters, we’re bringing to you a panel discussion entitled “Exploring the Connection Between Identity and Nature” with poet Michelle Otero and nature and science writer Sharman Apt Russell

Subhankar Banerjee Lannan Foundation Endowed Chair, Professor of Art & Ecology at the University of New Mexico, moderated the discussion.

Thanks to the NM Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities for their generous support of the Gila River Festival and this presentation.
