Community Spotlight is produced and hosted by Carolyn Smith and in this installment she interviews Nick Seibel, Manager of the Silver City MainStreet Project.
Nick grew up here in Silver City and has been the Silver City MainStreet Manager for the past two and a half years. Silver City MainStreet was established in 1985 and is one of New Mexico’s five original Main Street towns and the only one that has operated continuously. Its mission is “to encourage a vibrant historic downtown Silver City which is recognized as the heart of our diverse community.”
Annual Mainstreet events include the Downtown Expo, Big Ditch Day, Taste of Downtown, and the Lighted Christmas Parade as well as the Am Bank First Fridays each month that feature street dances, art openings, special offers, family activities, and more. The upcoming First Friday on January 4th will feature a Contra Dance at The Silco Theater.
