Dustin Hamman, recently here from Portland, may be a little-known musician in town, but not for long, as he’ll soon kick off a national tour for the months of March and April. The tour will promote the music he wrote for a film, “Beneath the Harvest Sky,” as well as two other albums of original music. The tour (as “Run On Sentence” with Dan Galucki) begins here in Silver City at the Little Toad Creek Brewery & Distillery downtown, Saturday, March 1. He’s our guest in the second hour.
Music columnist Claire Blaustein of NPR wrote of Dustin, “Hamman’s visions of folk music are realized with rich imagery and entrancing instrumentation, as he crafts vivid story lines and long strings of compelling narration.”
In the first hour, we visit with Douglas Francisco, who will tour with Dustin and open for him Saturday night. Douglas Francisco plays “haunting lap steel guitar, drawing from blues, country, jazz and gypsy music.”
