Summer Garden Flower Fiesta / 2014

Summer is in full bloom and it’s time for the

2nd Annual
Summer Garden Flower Fiesta
Sat August 23 9-noon at the SC Farmers Market

Join in a celebration of flower gardening!  First, pick local fresh flowers from the garden… yours, a friend’s or a neighbor’s – with their permission, of course!  Create a breathtaking bouquet & then donate your creation to the Fiesta for a silent auction.  The donation of your bouquet and proceeds from the silent auction will benefit YOUR community Radio station… GMCR / KURU.

Whether you donate a bouquet or not, you can stroll among all the entries, pick your favorite and bid on it in the silent auction AND cast your vote for the People’s Choice winners who will all receive prizes. The People’s Choice prizes will be awarded to the 3 bouquets receiving the most votes.  Rules for entries & other details below.

Rules for bouquet entries & silent auction:

• Flowers must be grown in a backyard garden, not purchased from any store
• Must be fresh flowers, not dried or silk
• Bouquets (including container) will be sold in a silent auction
• Bouquets that do not comply with the rules will be accepted for the silent auction but may not compete for “The People’s Choice”
• Bouquets must be submitted by 9 am Sat August 23 to the designated table at the Silver City Farmers Market. Alternatively, bouquets may be left at the GMCR studio @ 519 N Bullard St the previous day noon til 6 pm
• Bidding will take place from 9 until 11:00 am
• The highest bidder on each item at 11:00 am will be declared the winner
• Bouquets may be picked up & paid for at the Fiesta from 11:00 til noon. Those not claimed by noon may be picked up at the gmcr studio until 2 pm
• Those attending can purchase “dots” & place them on their favorite bouquet. The 3 bouquets receiving the most dots will be declared “The People’s Choice” & will receive exciting prizes
• Those donating bouquets are encouraged to ask their friends to go to the Farmers Market to vote for their favorite bouquet and to bid on one
