As of Today – Tuesday , May 26 – 7,026 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in New Mexico, with 320 deaths,  216  hospitalized individuals, and 2,522 recoveries according to the New Mexico Department of Health. 

Grant County continues to have 16 positive cases. 

In total, 177,361 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the state, with 1612 having been conducted in Grant County.

New Mexicans who report symptoms of COVID-19 infection, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and/or loss of taste or smell should call their health care provider or the NMDOH COVID-19 hotline immediately (1-855-600-3453).

CDC REOPENING GUIDANCE FOR CLEANING AND DISINFECTING PUBLIC SPACES WORKPLACES, BUSINESSES, SCHOOLS AND HOMES

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released guidance for cleaning and disinfecting public spaces, workplaces, businesses, schools and homes. The guidance is intended for everyone, whether you own a business, run a school, or want to ensure the cleanliness and safety of your home. Reopening a requires all of us to move forward together by practicing social distancing and other daily habits to reduce our risk of exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19. The guidance also includes a Cleaning and Disinfecting Decision Tool to assist individuals with when and how to clean and disinfect workspaces and surfaces. More information at cdc.gov/covid-19

NM DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH BILINGUAL COVID-SAFETY SIGNAGE FOR PUBLIC SPACES

The NM Department of Health has developed bilingual COVID safety signage for posting in public spaces. The signs are available in color and black and white and state in English and Spanish that masks are required per NM public health order. Download the signs at grantcountycoronavirusupdate.org under the Reopening tab. 

COBRE SCHOOLS STARTS SUMMER HOURS FOR GRAB AND GO MEALS TODAY

Cobre Schools starts its summer grab and go meal schedule today. Bags will be distributed Monday through Thursday from 11:30 until 12:30 at the Bayard Post Office, Viola Stone Park and Hurley Post Office. Mimbres meals will be delivered by bus. Friday’s meals will be included in Thursday’s bags.  Cobre Schools advises participants to wear a mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19. FOOD PANTRY SCHEDULE FOR THIS WEEK

The Commons will hold its next Food Pantry for  Silver City, Tyrone & Arenas Valley residents on tomorrow from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at 501 E. 13th Street in Silver City (Just off Swan Street behind the Knights of Columbus)
