- Ft. Bayard Walking Tour
9:30 a.m. Fort Bayard Museum (House 26) on historic Officer’s Row located on the west side of the Parade Ground. Museum will open at 8:15 a.m. Walking tour by Dr. John Bell will begin at 9:30. No admission fee, but donations to preserve, restore, and maintain the National Historic Landmark are welcome. Info 388-4477.
- Fiddling Friends
12 (Noon) – 12:45 p.m. Silver City Library, 515 W. College Ave. These fiddlers have been working hard for many years (and some of them just a few months) learning dance music from many different places, including New Mexico, Louisiana, Appalachia, and many other parts of the world. Ranging in age from 5-16, they learn by ear, as well as with written music. They are students of Jeanie McLerie and Ken Keppeler of Bayou Seco, and are often accompanied by them.
