About KURU

Yes! GMCR is now KURU!

When Gila / Mimbres Community Radio began almost 9 (!) years ago, we dreamed and envisioned an effective, successful and beloved community radio station. But little did we know what that really meant and what would actually be necessary to make it happen.

Well now we know!!

And yes, there will be a few wrinkles to iron out but the signal is strong and we’re getting reports from the outlying areas about how good the coverage is. Please drop us a line and let us know what neck of the woods you’re in, if you’re listening at home, on a portable, a mobile device or in your car and if you can hear us clearly.

By the way, at 10,500 watts, we are the 2nd most powerful station in the county so if you can hear anyone else, you should hear KURU just fine.

Now begins the real work of making GMCR / KURU a vital element in the life of this community with a continuing commitment to “serve the underserved” and provide
“A Voice & A Choice.”
