This week on Use Your Words, Elise Stuart and JJ Amaworo Wilson interview three budding young writers: Ivy Stephens-Etheridge, Keanu Wilson and Tigerlily Warner.
Ivy, 9, and Keanu, almost 9, will both be in fourth grade at Stout Elementary next year. Tigerlily, 11, attends Aldo Leopold and will be in 7th grade in the fall. Ivy and Keanu read their original and wildly imaginative stories and Tigerlily read her award-winning essay entitled Ethics in Relation to Nature.
Also joining the conversation will be Nancy Stephens, program coordinator for the Grant County affiliate of Imagination Library, established by Dolly Parton. Nancy describes their program which provides hundreds of free books to young readers in Grant County every month, encouraging kids to cultivate a love of reading throughout their lives.
Use Your Words! is broadcast live on the 2nd & 4th Fridays of the month at 4:30pm and rebroadcast the following Fridays at the same time.
