The recent 4th of July Parade has had a ripple of reactions.  Whether it was Wassup w/ de militarism?, A triumph for the LGBT Community! or What is that pipeline thing all about? as a barometer of public awareness of the threat to the Gila River, the 4th of July Parade brings us all together, even if to disagree on some issues.

So here’s is a commentary on the parade and the 4th of July generally in this day and age…
