As of Today -Monday, June 15 – 9,723 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in New Mexico, with 435 deaths, 162 currently hospitalized individuals, and 4114 recoveries according to the New Mexico Department of Health.
Grant County has 16 cases of COVID-19 with 15 recovered. There have been no deaths due to COVID-19 in Grant County.
In total, 263,665 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the state, with 2163 having been conducted in Grant County.

New Mexicans who report symptoms of COVID-19 infection, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and/or loss of taste or smell should call their health care provider or the NMDOH COVID-19 hotline immediately (1-855-600-3453).
As a reminder, the state’s extended public health order that took effect on June 1 still requires that face coverings must be worn in public settings; Mass gatherings of more than 5 people are still unsafe and prohibited and New Mexicans are still urged to stay home, especially if sick or in a high-risk group, and to maintain a 6-foot physical distance from others if you must go out.

COVID-19 TESTING SCHEDULE CHANGES
A reminder that local testing schedules and procedures for COVID-19 have changed.
Grant County Public Health Office will provide free testing every Monday from 8:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. for Food Industry Workers including: employees who work to provide New Mexican families with food, including workers at restaurants, grocery stores, farmers’ markets, distribution centers and food manufacturing facilities.
Free testing will also be conducted for everyone on Tuesdays from 8:30a.m. to 11:30a.m. at the Grant County Public Health Office at 2610 N. Silver Street (across the street from the Swimming Pool)
Testing is free, but those who have insurance should bring their card with them. Appointments are required and must be scheduled by noon the preceding Friday by calling (575) 538-5318 (ext. 4)
Gila Regional Medical Center is conducting testing every Monday and Friday from 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. at La Montana Plaza at 1260 E 32 nd Street (across the street from Gila Regional Medical Center). Please call (575) 388-4103 for an appointment to be tested or seen.
CVS Pharmacy Drive Through in Silver City
Patients will be required to stay in their cars and will be directed to the pharmacy drive-thru window. Patients must register in advance at CVS.com
Self-swab tests will be made available to individuals meeting CDC criteria, in addition to state and age guidelines.
Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS) in Silver City is doing testing on weekdays except for Tuesday at their clinic at 1007 Pope Street in Silver City and on weekdays except Thursdays at their Lordsburg clinic at 530 De Moss Street in Lordsburg.Call 1-888-271-3596 for an appointment. Testing is expanded to everyone via a drive -up testing approach.
REOPENING OF BREWERIES TODAY
A new public health order takes effect today allowing breweries to resume indoor service at 50 percent occupancy as determined by fire code. Bar and counter seating will still be prohibited, and these businesses will be required to comply with COVID-safe practices for restaurants. This includes a requirement to offer customers the opportunity to record their names and phone numbers or email addresses, along with the date and time of their visit, and retain such records for at least four weeks.

ADDITIONAL GILA NATIONAL FOREST RECREATION SITES TO REOPEN
The Gila National Forest announced that it will be reopening four more recreation sites by mid-June. The sites that will be reopening are Wolf Hollow Campground on Black Range Ranger District, Forks Campground on the Wilderness Ranger District, and Juniper and Piñon Campgrounds on Quemado Ranger District. All of these campgrounds are on a first-come first serve basis. Reminder – the Gila National Forest has a 14-day stay limit for all campsites. More information at: www.fs.usda.gov/gila
FOOD PANTRY SCHEDULES FOR THIS WEEK
The Food Pantry at the Gospel Mission at 111 South Texas St. in Silver City is open for drive thru only on Wednesdays 8:30 am – 9:30 am. Daily soup kitchen: 8:30-9:30 for breakfast Mon-Fri and 12-1 pm lunch every day. Call 575 388-5071
St. Francis Newman Center Food Pantry at 914 W. 13th St. in Silver City is open today at 4 pm and cash assistance for rent, utilities, bus passes and prescription drugs is also provided. Call 575-388-4933 for more information.
The Commons Mining District Mobile Food Pantry for Santa Clara, Bayard, Hanover & Hurley residents takes place Tuesday 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Bataan Memorial Park in Santa Clara
The Commons Gila Valley Mobile Food Pantry for Buckhorn, Cliff, Gila & Redrock residents also takes place tomorrow from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m at the Fairgrounds in Cliff.
Senior Citizens Mobile Food Pantry will be held on Wednesday from 10:30 am – 12:30 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 3755 N. Swan St. in Silver City for any senior in Grant County 55 and older. Proof of Grant County residency required.
