Ali Jensen is the project assistant for Healthy Kids / Healthy Communities – a four year program to reduce childhood obesity and improve the health of communities, funded by a grant from the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation.
In addition to advocating for policy change by helping to establish the Grant County Food Policy Council and writing a Local Food Assessment report, Healthy Kids / Healthy Communities funded free bus rides from the Mining District to the Silver City Farmers’ Market.and is a sponsor of the Annual Farm 2 Chef event that promotes local food.
HKHC is currently working on the Fit Families Program, a childhood obesity intervention program that focuses on physical activities, mental health, nutrition and families.
