This installment of Earth Matters is a rebroadcast of Allyson Siwik‘s interview of Michael Berman – noted landscape photographer, Guggenheim Fellow  and self-described radical environmentalist.  Michael has several books of his work as a photographer and is an active supporter of environmental issues – particularly in the Southwest – having served on a number of boards for environmental organizations.

Michael will be featured in this year’s Gila River Festival scheduled for September 18 – 21.  His exhibit at WNMU / McCray Gallery is titled Gila Rising: Photographs of America’s First Wilderness River.  The exhibit opens on Friday, September 19 from 5pm – 7pm followed by a slide show presentation in the Parotti Building across the courtyard from the McCray.

Visit the Gila Conservation website for more information on Michael and Fragmented Images to see more of his work.
