This was the second installment of Earth Matters, hosted by Donna Stevens – Executive Director of Upper Gila Watershed Alliance. The Gila National Forest will publish the long awaited Travel Management Plan in the near future and we are revisiting that issue as well as the matter of the SWCCA which has emerged as an opponent of environmental responsibility and supporter of policies that reflect corporate rather than public interests.
Donna addresses the issue of the Gila National Forest Travel Management Plan and also discusses how the issue relates to the SWCCA / Southwest County Commission Alliance that has been mired in controversy since its inception due to intemperate remarks by public officials suggesting violation of federal law based upon the “Constitutional Sheriff” movement.
Her guest, Walter ‘Ski’ Szymanski, has been following the activities of the SWCCA and provides context on the sudden appearance of the organization and insight as to its purpose.
Earth Matters airs Tuesday and Thursday at 8am and 8pm and Sundays at 8pm. Or you can click below to listen anytime to this episode of
