Silver City Acoustic / Greg Renfro and Gurnie Dobbs
today6 March 2014
Gurnie Dobbs lives in Gila, New Mexico, and has been singing and writing music since his years in Paris, and maybe before.
His humor is frequent, surprising in its wit, and matched by transformational sensibilities that pop up when you least expect it. Obviously, we had a great time with him and his wife, Susan VanAuken, and sister-in-law, Gretchen, also of Gila, who both joined us in the studio.
In the first hour, I filled in for a guest who’d had to cancel. I really tried to find someone to replace him, but alas, no one wanted to go on the air with such short notice. So I did, and Jean filled in as interviewer, and we had a good time.
Thanks to all you listeners. And for those of you who haven’t yet tuned in, in the last couple weeks, we’ve given away a very nice CD and tickets to a show, so don’t miss out! Become a member of Gila-Mimbres Community Radio and listen to “Silver City Acoustic.”
Tune in and tune up to KURU 89.1 FM, Thursdays 6:15 or so – 8 pm MDT
