Now in the 13^th year of planning, the deadline for a record of decision under the Arizona Water Settlements Act is fast approaching and Gila River diversion proponents have yet to fully define their proposed action.

Meanwhile state legislators have continued efforts to direct AWSA funding away from the diversion and into community water projects that can achieve a big bang for the buck for southwest NM’s future water security.
