Education is a primary – indeed, primal – requisite of any society… much less a complex and contemporary one.

Therefore it is curious that such controversy has erupted in the last few decades over such a fundamental of modern social organization.

GMCR considers the advancement of effective education – meaning an increase in the numbers of people with access to and the circumstances to take advantage of educational resources – as a fundamental individual human right as well as a requisite of a just society and essential pre-condition for a productive and sustainable economy.

However, education is much more than that. It is the inspiration, fount of knowledge and constant beacon that attracts and encourages human creativity. Absent that, increase in knowledge and wisdom ceases and all humanity suffers.

GMCR’s vision for locally produced, community focused programming includes education and related issues. Thus we will track, record and present school and public meetings and other programs related to education in Southwest New Mexico.
